In December 2014, Brian Wilson played a concert in Las Vegas for a PBS “Soundstage” special called Brian Wilson and Friends. The performance featured the Beach Boys’ Al Jardine, former members Blondie Chaplin and Ricky Fataar, and a number of guests including She & Him (Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward), Kacey Musgraves, fun.’s Nate Ruess, and more. It’s now been announced that Brian Wilson and Friends will be released on CD and DVD on July 29 via BMG. Back in March, Zooey went to the Ellen show and she talked about her new baby, Elise Otter, and why she choose that name. You can check it out below!
With new comedic hour Scream Queens set for the fall, I hear Fox may shake up the Tuesday comedy lineup, holding the night’s staple New Girl until January. I hear the strategic move is designed to give New Girl’s fifth season a virtually uninterrupted run, which is very helpful for a serialized comedy as proven recently by new Fox midseason drama Last Man on Earth, which ran continuously. In the fall, New Girl gets interrupted for baseball and then the holidays, sometime disrupting its momentum as was the case in its first season.
Meanwhile, Tuesday would be familiar territory for Scream Queens creators Ryan Murphy Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan and co-star Lea Michele as that is where Glee once aired, most recently during the 2013-14 season.
During the American Dad! panel at the San Diego Comic-Con this weekend executive producer Steve Callaghan announced that Zooey will be guest starring on season 10 of the animated television series. Read what he had to say about her episode below. Warning contains spoilers.
Zooey Deschanel guest stars in another episode in which Snot’s (Curtis Armstrong) father dies and Steve and his friends take an “indie movie-style” road trip. “She was great, she was super funny, and everything you hope she would be,” Bloom says.
The funny girl with the enviable locks, Zooey Deschanel, will be joining Pantene’s Australia and New Zealand ambassadors — beauty expert Zoe Foster-Blake and hairstylist Barney Martin — to help promote the brand’s Beautiful Lengths campaign. The New Girl (and her signature bangs) has been helping to support female cancer sufferers in the US since late last year, through the scheme that provides real-hair wigs and advice to women battling the disease.
“I am so excited to be part of the Pantene family in Australia and New Zealand. I am really into hair and I love experimenting with different styles. Being a ‘Pantene girl’ has been a dream of mine since I was a little kid. It is really amazing to be representing the Pantene Beautiful Lengths Collection; the products are fantastic and Pantene also supports the Pantene Beautiful Lengths program which is a wonderful cause,” she says.
Running all year and alongside Pantene’s National Donate Your Hair Week in November, we couldn’t be more excited to have Zooey on board in Oz for such an inspiring cause. Three cheers for Zooey!
Netflix Inc. (NFLX), the leading online subscription-video service, signed an exclusive multiyear deal with Twentieth Century Fox Television to stream past seasons of “New Girl” to its U.S. online members.
The first season of the ensemble roommate comedy led by actress Zooey Deschanel became available today, and subsequent seasons will go online after their regular broadcast run, the companies said today in a statement.
“We know our members love comedies and that they’ll enjoy watching all the current and future episodes of ‘New Girl,’” said Ted Sarandos, chief content officer at Netflix.
Unfortunately, Zooey and New Girl did not win any awards last night. Though I’m disappointed that they didn’t win I’m so proud that they received nominations. In other awards news the Television Critic’s Association released their nominees list today and while Zooey is not directly nominated New Girl is nominated for Outstanding Achievement in Comedy and her co-star Jake Johnson is nominated for Individual Achievement in Comedy. Congratulations on the nominations!
